Job description saver

Save job descriptions for your applications before the posting disappears.

A live job post is not a durable record. HiredBase lets you preserve the role context associated with an application, so you can prepare, follow up, and explain your candidacy from the description you actually saw.

Capture the context at the right time

A bookmark is not enough when the requirements change.

Job boards and company career pages can be edited, closed, moved behind sign-in, or removed. A HiredBase job snapshot preserves readable job-description text alongside capture time and source URL, so the historical description is visibly distinct from your current application details.

  • Paste the job description text yourself whenever you have it.
  • Optionally provide a job URL for server-side capture of accessible content and basic metadata.
  • Keep each new capture as a separate immutable snapshot instead of overwriting history.
  • Mark the snapshot that reflects the description at application time.

Two capture paths, one honest outcome

Capture what is available. Paste what is not.

Manual capture is always available

Paste the job-description text and optionally the source URL. The snapshot records when it was captured and remains readable as historical context.

URL-assisted capture is bounded and defensive

HiredBase attempts server-side retrieval only for an accessible URL, with redirect, timeout, and response-size safeguards. Privileged fetching does not run in the browser.

A failed capture is not presented as a success

If the site is blocked, needs authentication, cannot be read safely, or cannot be parsed, HiredBase explains the limitation and immediately offers manual paste.

History stays intact

A later capture becomes another snapshot. You can compare versions when useful without confusing a newer posting with the one tied to the application.

Use snapshots where they help

Keep the original requirements close to the later work.

The snapshot belongs to an application record, where it can inform a tailored résumé, interview preparation, and follow-up notes. It is not a generic saved-link pile; it is the preserved context for one particular candidacy.

  1. When you apply

Save the description at application time, before the listing changes or is taken down.

  2. When you prepare

Return to the same requirements when choosing an example for an interview or reviewing the materials you sent.

  3. When the post changes

Capture the newer version separately and keep the historical distinction visible instead of silently replacing it.

Common questions

Snapshot capture without pretending every page is accessible.

Can HiredBase save every job post from a URL?
No. Some job sites block access, require sign-in, redirect unexpectedly, or cannot be parsed safely. When that happens, HiredBase does not claim success and provides manual paste instead.
Does a new capture replace the previous job description?
No. Each capture creates a new immutable snapshot. Older snapshots stay intact so the application-time description remains identifiable.
Is raw external HTML shown in the application?
No. HiredBase displays readable sanitized text rather than rendering raw external HTML in your workspace.
